Aug 8-9 1980: Washington County Fair, hillsboro, oregon

The guys performed for two days at the Fair with a nine song set each day. The previous spring they had performed at Hillsboro High School. where they were asked to perform at the Fair upcoming in August.

Circa 1980 - Corvallis, Oregon

This picture was likely taken after a practice at Peter Harr's home in Corvallis. The handwritten songbook that Walt is holding contains many of the Elderly Brothers standards, including their signature song, "Come Go With Me." In pre-internet days there were "Oldies" songbooks for lyrics and chords, but many had to be hand copied from song recordings when the sheet music wasn't available.

1996 - Hillsboro, oregon

This is from the first available video of the guys in action. It was recoreded in the home of Walt Hellman in Hillsboro by Walt's son Jeff.

2004 - Boston, Massachusetts

The guys performed at the wedding of Walt's son Matthew in Boston.

2005 Bonneville springs, washington

The guys performed at the Vernier Science Education Company's 20th Anniversary celebration in Bonneville Springs, Washington. Dave and Walt had both taught physics in Hillsboro, but Dave left in the mid '80's to start his own science school lab equipment and software company. The company is now a worldwide supplier and leader in the field.

2008 Artichoke Music - Portland, oregon

Artichoke Music, in Portland, Oregon, is a legendary music store that also hosts open mics. The guys were proud and honored to perform in this venue.

2018 - practice at hellman's -hillsboro, oregon

The Original Elderly Brothers is much more than a singing group. The guys and their wives have remained the closest of friends all through the 50 years.

Aug. 27, 2010 Influence music hall - hillsboro, oregon

This was the first of several appearances at Hillsboro's oldest open mic and the hub of the Hillsboro musicians community.

2011 - Peter's retirement party - corvallis, oregon

Peter Harr, our lead singer, did a long stint as an Engineer at CH2M Hill and later worked as a Civil Engineer for the City of Albany, Oregon. His engineering work took him as far away as Egypt, but he always came back to sing. He didn't get a break though at his own retirement party in Corvallis leading the guys in a number of songs.
